RECRUITMENT OF CANDIDATES TO THE GROUP OF RESEARCHERS FROM UKRAINE UNDER JEWISH STUDIES AT THE INSTITUTE OF JEWISH STUDIES OF JAGIELLONIAN UNIVERSITY

 

 

The project is to enable Ukrainian historians specializing in the field of Jewish history and culture in Central and Eastern Europe to carry out short-term research work in Poland. The aim of the competition is to select a group of researchers who will work for up to 6 months (3 or 6 months preferred) on a project in the field. Those selected in the competition will be offered a monthly salary of GBP 1,300 gross/month (converted into PLN) on the basis of a contract of commission. Their responsibilities will include:

  1. conducting research within a topic approved by the Institute of Jewish Studies, Jagiellonian University
  2. active participation in the scientific life of the unit, e.g. by attending seminars and meetings.

The research work will be summarized in written reports submitted by the participants to the Institute of Jewish Studies.

Who can apply?

Eligible for the recruitment are citizens of Ukraine holding at least a master's degree, with documented experience of working in academic institutions, museums or archives on the territory of Ukraine, as well as doctoral students affiliated with Ukrainian universities. The condition for financing the stay is that the person selected in the competition obtains legal residence in Poland on the basis of the applicable legislation.

The deadline for sending the applications is Dec. 31, 2022.

Applications for the competition should be sent to: instytut.judaistyki@uj.edu.pl or in paper form to the following address: Institute of Jewish Studies, Jagiellonian University in Kraków, ul. Józefa 19, p. 25, Kraków 31-056. The postmark date is decisive, with regard to meeting the deadline. Documents may be submitted in Polish or English. The application in the form available on the website should also include:

  1. CV of the candidate,
  2. bibliography of scientific work,
  3. motivation letter containing the topic of the planned research (up to 3000 characters),
  4. signed consent to processing personal data (appendix no. 2 to the Regulations).
